As of the 1st January 2020, the Polish Tax Authorities have changed the way they receive VAT payments. Up until the 31st December 2019, payments were made into one centralised bank account in Poland where payment references would need to be used in order to match individual VAT payments to the company who collected the VAT.

For any payments made from 1st January 2020, each company will need to make their VAT payments into their own specified Micro Tax Account.

Any payments made into the central account in Poland after 1st January 2020 will be lost.

The funds will not be transferred into the new Micro Tax Accounts or credited to a VAT number and therefore it is critical to pay into the correct micro account from January 2020.
